Dr Abdul Qader is the Founder and Director of SLQ Australia Pty Ltd. Prior to this he has acquired over 14 years of direct experience in carbon capture research and demonstration in a capacity of a Principal Consultant and the Capture Program Manager for an Australian world-leading CCS R&D organisation, CO2CRC Ltd.
He joined CO2CRC in 2007 pioneering in capture research and demonstration activities and managed implementation of many pilot plants under industrial setting covering pre-combustion, post-combustion and gas separation. He had been involved with a hydrogen project sponsored by a Japanese Consortium in Victoria and steered a feasibility study on emission reduction in an Australian steel plant. He had also been involved in international consultancies on CCS Readiness and CCU for oil refineries funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
Dr Qader has a Chemical Engineering background with over 41 years of experience in both academia and industrial projects. He has numerous publications in carbon capture and chemical engineering. Commercialisation of CCS is the main goal he is engaged with.
He has a reputable association with national and major international carbon capture communities, contributing actively to various technical and project management efforts. He had been the CO2CRC representative in the International Test Center Network, a global coalition of facilities working to accelerate the research and development of carbon capture technologies.
